Tilting the Lens: Telling the Story of Sham Shui Po
From 2009 - 2010, I had the great honor of being one of 5 graphic designers asked to work abroad on this extraordinary book documentary.
From SCAD's Museum of Art: "Tilting the Lens" is a first-of-its-kind study of one of Hong Kong's oldest and most distinctive neighborhoods. Under the direction of SCAD photography, architectural history, historic preservation, and graphic design professors, the students studied and documented the built environment and culture of the area both in words and pictures. With a combination of sweeping photographic spreads and intriguing detail shots, the book explores facets of architecture and daily life of Sham Shui Po, from the coexistence of 19th-century temples and towering modern skyscrapers and shops, to the observances of distinct, ancient customs that have been adapted for the 21st century."
